• ★ 1995–2005 | Birth–Age 10

☆ Mordecai was born to Jezebel Stavros in 1995 in Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles, CA.☆ Nikolai (mortal form of the demon Abaddon, more info below :3) manipulated Jezebel and created Robin and Cyrus, and later Mordecai as his spawn.☆ Nikolai left when Mordecai was six, shattering Jezebel’s mind with the influence of drugs and his chaos demon abilities. She became addicted and unable to care for her children.☆ Mordecai’s early years were full of emotional neglect from his mom, looking up to his siblings for guidance, and struggling with school/attendance.

• ★ 2006–2009 | Ages 11–14

☆ A school friend, Sergio, introduced them to Naomi, Mordecai began running drugs/money for Naomi to help his family with money, witnessing violence, raids, etc.☆ Naomi acted as a mother, giving him a place to stay, covering for him at school, and getting him out of juvenile hall multiple times.

• ★ 2010–2013 | Ages 15–18

☆ 2010 (Age 15): Nikolai returned, being manipulative again and acting as if he wanted to be part of the family again. He sent Jezebel to rehab and sent the kids to Iris Hills Sleepaway Camp, hoping if they were near so many witches and different supernatural species it would wake their chaos demon hunger. It didn't work as planned, Instead, Mordecai found peace being away from home and made friends with Matty, Sailor, and Lucy.☆ 2011 (Age 16): Mordecai dropped out of school and began dealing instead of just running/collecting money. He lived with Naomi most of the time after his siblings moved out, creating a huge distance in relationship for the family.☆ 2012–2013 (Ages 17–18): Jezebel died from an overdose using the drugs Mordecai had stashed to sell. Grief and guilt drove him into isolation. The isolation created distance between him and friends, and he broke up with Matty. The isolation eventually escalated to developing an addiction to pills and living by himself back home for a short time.☆ Nikolai returned again, taking Jezebel, and guiding Mordecai through a ritualistic hypnosis that awakened Mardochaíos, The Soul Devourer. Originally, Mordecai was supposed to be a mischief demon, but this changed after he grew impatient with them not showing signs of their chaos demon. They had no memory of the awakening of The Soul Devourer, and continued to believe his father had been gone since the camp.☆ Mordecai continued grieving and isolating at home until Naomi showed up expecting the money for the missing drugs, realizing he was a mess she helped him move into her house.

• ★ 2014–2025 | Ages 19–30

☆ 2014–2015 (Ages 19–20): Mordecai moved out of Naomis and moved in with Sergio. He never truly got over what happened with his mom, and his grief worsened after he started missing Matty again.In an attempt to separate Naomi’s drug use from their own, they began buying from someone else. After piling up a lot of money owed, they were pressured into repeated situations of sexual assault as a way to pay it off. This only worsened their self destruction and they later went to jail for possession until Naomi bailed him out.☆ 2016–2017 (Ages 21–22): Reconnected with Matty after Sailor caught them up on the situation with Deimos.Moved in with MattyMet Larme☆ 2018–2019 (Ages 23–24): Mordecai began experiencing symptoms of The Soul Devourers presence, the early signs were very chaotic, strong pulsing auras around anybody with supernatural aspects, that were followed by intrusive thoughts and visions depicting the soul devourer taking the souls from their friends.They thought they were losing their mind and began seeing a doctor. Therapy failed and he abused the prescriptions provided.Began isolating themself from Matty and their friends again. He would leave often for days, struggling with the same addiction and intrusive thoughts.Mordecai moved back in with Naomi, not letting Matty or anybody of his whereabouts. But after realizing the same aura would be around her too, he started hotel hopping and couch hopping☆ 2020–2021 (Ages 25–26): Abaddon revealed the truth and forced Mordecai into his form as The Soul Devourer for the first time. This made him go into the feral rampage the urges have begged him to go on this entire time. The chaotic transformation caused him to heavily damage his right eye.Moved in with a friend and one of Naomi's dealers, Pandora, who manipulated him and worsened his addiction.This year of his addiction was also at its worst with his relationship with his siblings, sending them both hostile messages about The Soul Devourer and how he needed help. They had no idea why he was dealing with his demon so horrifically, considering theirs wasn’t as horrific. Mordecai wasn't very coherent during the text messages though, causing them to just believe it was the drugs and not the demon he was struggling with.The Soul Devourer killed Mordecai's roommate MaggieThe Soul Devourer killed Mordecai’s roommate PhoebeThe Soul Devourer started regularly going on uncontrolled hunts for supernatural souls but because of the lack of control it would mindlessly hunt anything in its way.In 2021 Mordecai went to jail for a DUI and battery and later got anonymously bailed out by Robin.☆ 2022 (Age 27): A severe blackout frenzy brought him to a graveyard, where he attempted to siphon the soul of Aamon Rosario. It didn't go as planned, Aamon revived himself and temporarily banished The Soul Devourer from him. Mordecai remained in contact with Aamon for guidance, frequently visiting Aamon at Enakhras house.☆ 2023 (Age 28): Pandora peer pressured Mordecai into an overdose at a party. Sergio caught it and called the ambulance.
He went to rehab with support from Jay. He was in and out of rehab for about 6 months.Jay offered his home to Mordecai which quickly created a situationship that developed into an unexpected serious relationship.Jay helped him understand how to control The Soul Devourer.Mordecai spent time patiently and intentionally transforming into The Soul Devourer and getting used to the form.Mordecai created a relationship with Mardochaios and learned to control the creature.Mardochaios taught Mordecai that if he were to siphon a single supernatural soul about once a month it would be enough to regulate the feral nature that was created from starving it for so long☆ 2024 (Age 29): Matty and Mordecai bumped into each other at Raymond’s liquor store, catching up and rekindling their relationshipMordecai and Jay broke up after a total unresolved conversation that ended in Mordecai leaving and ghosting Jay for a time while he stayed with sergioMordecai moved in with Matty

• MARDOCHAIOS, THE SOUL DEVOURER

★ Mardochaios is a deep blue black scaled humanoid creature that stands at 11’0 but is almost always sitting crouched. Its hands and feet are talon-like instead of the usual hooves, and it has two sets of horns that don't curl but instead grow straight up. It has no eyes, but its senses make up for it, always being able to see other supernatural people or witches. Their features are very humanoid but more reflect a reptile than a goat like the other demons. Although they don't consume their prey through that mouth, their jaws are able to open up like a snake's would, and their mouth is full of sharp teeth. Once hunted and killed, The Soul Devourer uses the mouth-like opening that starts from the top of its sternum, wraps down its body and stops at the middle of its spine to siphon the soul. It will then consume the body through the same mouth.

• KÓLASI, ABADDON, NIKOLAI LORE:

Kólasi is the realm ruled by Abaddon, often misinterpreted by humans as hell. What humans refer to as hell is a construct created through lack of knowledge, word of mouth, and the influence of human religion rather than actual recorded history. There is very little documentation of Abaddon or his realm, so humans filled the gaps themselves and shaped Kólasi into something that fit what they think is immoral. Suffering, sin, eternal fire, etc.Kólasi was never designed as a place of punishment like the humans believe it to be. Not only does it host souls in the afterlife, It is a realm built on structure and order for the chaos on earth. For a long time, Abaddon sent Chaos Demons to Earth in pacts. Their purpose was to hunt supernatural beings that crossed realms to exist among humans that, in his eyes, created imbalance and chaos on earth.This order came with the pacts sole job being to erase the existence of the supernatural on earth completely, consuming their souls so they weren’t able to be on earth OR return to their realm. Their souls were absorbed into Kólasi and repurposed as power. Abaddon believed this was necessary. To him, supernatural beings existing freely on Earth represented disorder and chaos operating outside a system, his system. He believed they shouldn't live amongst humans, breed with humans, and let their souls into Kólasi. His version of order was absolute and self-serving, control rather than balance. And although his job as ruler of Kólasi was balance of souls and the afterlife, and his actions could appear protective against the supernatural to some, the way he went about it was totally violent and morally evil. He had no want for coexistence with the supernatural.Other higher powers actively interfered with his influence on Earth, limiting how directly Kólasi could act. As a result, Abaddon relied on indirect methods like sending out demon pacts in phases and long-term manipulation rather than open invasion and immediate results. Witches disrupted this system completely. Their magic could protect supernatural souls, help guide them, and block Abaddon’s influence altogether.At first, Abaddon held back because the witches were technically human, and stopping them the way he knew how went against his claimed purpose of protecting humans. That hesitation ended once he realized they were nearly equal in his power, were actively banishing his demons, and were putting a stop to his entire purpose in general. This eventually created a war between the two and the pacts were redirected to no longer hunt the supernatural, but witches instead.As interference from witches continued to totally put a stop to Abaddons plans for years, the pact system failed and he had no influence on earth for years. Instead of relying on multiple demons working together, he decided on the creation of a single entity capable of bypassing protections. Sort of. This decision led to the beginnings of the creation of The Soul Devourer, a being with not only each aspect of his original demons, but Abaddons power in general. This demon's creation had one purpose specifically, to be human, create human bonds, get close to the supernatural that live so normally on earth now, and erase them.Abaddon, for the first time, created a mortal form for himself that he called Nikolai. This mortal form created human bonds on earth, later marrying and creating a family with a human, and witch, named Jezebel. His goal with her was ultimately to one, get close to a witch and figure out what exactly they were doing to protect against his demons, and two, to create a vessel that could become The Soul Devourer. First, they had two children, ones Jezebel named Robin and Cyrus. Robin was made to be an Envy Demon, and Cyrus a Shadow Demon. Although his plans for The Soul Devourer was to hunt alone, he had plans to have two of his more powerful smaller demon aspects available to aid The Soul Devourer when it was necessary.When their third child was born, Nikolai named them Mordecai, English for Mardochaíos. Once this child was born, Nikolai felt like his work was finished for now, and once Mordecai was ready to receive The Soul Devourer, he would return.Nikolai knew Jezebel, being a witch, would eventually catch onto her children being Chaos Demons and he viewed this as a threat to his plans. He spent time completely and totally destroying her mind and modifying her memory of her protections against his demons and making her forget her witchcraft entirely. His influence manipulated her to regularly destroy herself with human drugs. Nikolai left his mortal life and returned to Kólasi, only returning to earth occasionally to check in on the progress of his children, who he viewed as just his demon spawn.Once Abaddon grew impatient at how slow human development was, he came back to Earth and merged The Soul Devourer with Mordecai early when he was a teenager. Signs and results only showing themselves in later years, Mordecai eventually began seeing the signs in his early 20s. Mordecai's human mind and The Soul Devourer's nature was showing negative results, Abaddon began regularly receiving human souls instead of supernatural. This chaos began to break Mordecai, their human emotion and heart towards the relationships they've created directly countered The Soul Devourers' purpose. This chaos began to break Mordecai's mind and worry Abaddon that his plan wasn't working.Abaddon began expecting Mordecai to die any minute now. Watching his failing experiment, he began creating a second Soul Devourer, one that he thought would better merge with a human this time. Abaddon completely neglected The Soul Devourer, waiting for it to come to an end on its own so he can start over. However, the moment a celestial friend of Mordecais, Jay, communicated with Abaddon to figure out how to help Mordecai, Abaddon shared with Jay that Mordecai can only gain control over The Soul Devourer if he gives it what it wants: siphoning the souls of the supernatural. Mordecai hated the idea, considering literally everybody he cared about was in this category, but he did what had to be done and began hunting once a month.Mardochaios and Mordecai reached a sort of synergy, and were able to relax the feral nature of The Soul Devourer. Mordecai now has full and total control over it and stopped siphoning human souls, now siphoning the bare minimum of supernatural souls to satisfy Abaddon.Abaddons plans will eventually return to expecting more souls, even if that means the consumption of Mordecais supernatural blooded friends and the removal of the now revived witch who started this entire problem. But for now, things remain neutral as Abaddon & Mardochaios have came to an agreement that it will take care of Abaddons needs without disruption.Due to Mardochaois' time on earth, and connection to Mordecai, it has grown to feel neutral about the supernatural on earth, and is trying to find a way to separate itself from Abaddons influence completely.

• CHAOS DEMONS

★ Psionic Demon: Mind manipulation, psychokinesis, telepathy. The Psionic Demon uses its power to manipulate the mind of the target, usually aiding the Mischief, Lust, or Envy Demon depending on the hunt.★ Mischief Demon: Hallucinations, shapeshifting. Uses its power to distort perception and reality around the target, creating hallucinations. It ruins the target's trust in their own senses and causes misjudgment and paranoia, essentially lowering its defences.★ Lust Demon: Luring, shapeshifting. The Lust Demon uses its power to create a temporary connection to the target, lowering its defences and manipulating it with the goal of distracting and luring the target.★ Envy Demon: Can seek out insecurities and fears, shapeshifting. The Envy Demon uses its power to find whatever fear, insecurity, or weakness the target has and uses it against them.★ Greed Demon: Heat vision, tracking, soul siphoning. The Greed Demon uses its power to be the finale to the hunt. They are the one with the ability to siphon the soul and track the target if it gets away.★ Shadow Demon: Defence, offence, healing, protecting the pact. The Shadow Demon uses its power to cloak the pack when it needs protection. They are able to teleport them away through the shadows, defend them from threats, physically fight back, and heal wounds that may be present. They usually stay behind in the shadows and notify the pact when they need to fall back.
